My final shot from my trip to Zion during the Solar storm. Unfortunate that you can’t see the waving Aurora but as an astronomy nerd it’s extremely cool to see the sky such a different shade than it usually is.
This tree is in the center of the field at the Zion Lodge. It is about 100 years old, and the rangers say that the tree is reaching the end of its life. It will soon crack and fall apart under its own weight.
